History
The Boulder Alumnae Chapter was chartered on June 11, 1949. The chapter later became inactive in 1960 but was reinstalled on June 10, 2001 with 23 charter members.
Today
The Boulder Alumnae Chapter is part of the Xi C Province, which includes college chapters Sigma Upsilon - University of Denver, Mu Tau - Colorado State University, Denver Alumnae chapter, and Colorado Springs Alumnae chapter. We meet in various locations across Boulder and Northern Colorado and members are encouraged to attend any of these meetings.
Who We Are
Once an SAI, always an SAI. Did you know that once you are initiated, you are always a Sigma Alpha Iota member? It is interesting to hear women speak about how they 'were' a member in college. The scope of SAI goes way beyond the university. Alumnae members are very active in the community. They sing and play instruments, teach in public schools and colleges, compose music, conduct orchestras and choruses, provide support for various college chapters, work in various other fields besides music and, in addition, find the time to care for families and loved ones, as well as joining us for meetings. Together, we form the Boulder Alumnae Chapter, which strives to encourage, nurture, and support the art of music and to support our sisters in their professions.
What We Do
Our local projects include supporting the activities of the collegiate chapter at CSU. We have provided financial assistance to a deserving Mu Tau chapter member of SAI in the form of a scholarship. The scholarship is a $500 grant based on talent and presented to a local undergraduate member of SAI. We also provide financial support to SAI Philanthropies, Inc. as well as other worthy causes.
The Boulder Alumnae Chapter also performs around the Boulder area. February brings an annual Valentine Sing Along for residents of a local retirement and assisted living community. Residents enjoy singing, instrument participation, and fun in the spirit of love and Valentine's Day. An annual spring public musicale also draws an audience to help raise money through donations for the Mu Tau Scholarship and SAI Philanthropies, Inc.

How Can I Affiliate?
Membership in the Boulder Alumnae Chapter is open to all initiated members of SAI. This includes recent college graduates, unaffiliated members, and patronesses living in the Northern Colorado area. You must be a current member of the SAI Alumnae Association to affiliate.
While attendance is important, absences are accepted. We understand that everyone has busy lives, however, an alumnae chapter does not require as much of a time commitment as a college chapter.
Active membership can be achieved in many ways including leadership, performance possibilities, working on projects, committees, and meeting attendance.
